I was researching my last name on Google, when this website popped up. At first I was perplexed, then I noticed my surname included in a list of Wendish immigrants to Australia. For the longest time I thought I was German; but this discovery might possibly give way to a new self-identity. How can I find out more about this?!

On pp 102 & 103 of Neilsons book is listed Johann Klows & Martin Klowss, who arrived at Port Adelaide in February 1856. I have established that I am a descendent of Martin Klowss. However I have only flimsy evidence that Johann & Martin are brothers. Martin was married before he came to Australia. the shipping records offer no details. I know that the above two are only 18 months difference in age.
I am in contact with the descendants of Johann Klows.
Both Klows(s) come from Drewitz. Can anyone suggest how I obtain a marriage certificate for each, as I would expect this would shed light on their parents.
regards
