You are welcome to contact us on CommentsOn pp 102 & 103 of Neilsons book is listed Johann Klows & Martin Klowss, who arrived at Port Adelaide in February 1856. I have established that I am a descendent of Martin Klowss. However I have only flimsy evidence that Johann & Martin are brothers. Martin was married before he came to Australia. the shipping records offer no details. I know that the above two are only 18 months difference in age. I am a descendant of Christian Matuschka and Anna Recho. His son Martin was my GGgrandfather.Martin disappeared circa 1880 with his disabled son Fredrich.Leaving wife and two daughters with Zueschner family at Grung Grung Victoria. Does anyone know what happened to him ?. |

I was researching my last name on Google, when this website popped up. At first I was perplexed, then I noticed my surname included in a list of Wendish immigrants to Australia. For the longest time I thought I was German; but this discovery might possibly give way to a new self-identity. How can I find out more about this?!
