Annual Luncheon in Ballarat, Saturday 28 October 2023

by JOHN NOACK

Ballarat continues to be a convenient central location in Victoria for our Society’s Annual Luncheon.  The venue was the Barkly Motorlodge, 43 Main Road, Bakery Hill, Ballarat and its restaurant, which is now a Chinese restaurant, appropriately named the “Maple Palace”.  Thirty-two people attended.  Large platters and bowls of delicious Chinese food were served to each table, for diners to help themselves.  All were very pleased with the quality and quantity of the food provided.

Colourful posters depicting costumes, customs and scenery in Lusatia, Germany were on display and various family history books were for sale.  The post-Luncheon talk and videos were presented by Guest Speakers Betty and Colin Huf.  They informed the diners about their recent “Hochkirch and Homelands Tour, Easter 2023”.
