Recommended Books on Wends in Australia

by Kevin Zwar

“From Hamburg to Hobsons Bay: German Emigration to Port Phillip”

For a detailed and excellent book on the migration of Germans and Wends to Victoria in Australia I’d recommend the following book: From Hamburg to Hobsons Bay: German Emigration to Port Phillip (Australia Felix) 1848-51 by Thomas A. Darragh and Robert N. Wuchatsch (1999). Packed with 342 pages of information.

In July 2007 this book is available for $A45 plus $A10 packing and postage, from Robert Wuchatsch, 2020 Princes Highway, Pirron Yallock, Victoria 3249. For further details, contact robert.wuchatsch@gmail.com

You should find copies in your local library.
